Cowpea beans can bloom in all types of sowing seasons. Therefore, they are available all year round.

Basic Information:
Cowpea is an oval shaped bean, pale in colour and has a distinct large black, brown or red spot  that looks like an eye. Possessing a strong nutty, earthy flavour and creamy taste, it can be served in the form of gravies, soup and salad. Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Rajasthan are the leading producers of lobia in India.

Health and Nutrition:
Cowpea is a nutrient dense legume which has a vast reserve of protein and dietary fibre help in building up our immunity and synthesis of collagen. Richness of various vitamins support healthy cells and tissue functioning. In addition, they also contain antioxidants.
